CC   -!- FUNCTION: Hyperpolarization-activated ion channel exhibiting weak
CC       selectivity for potassium over sodium ions. Contributes to the
CC       native pacemaker currents in heart (If) and in neurons (Ih).
CC       Activated by cAMP, and at 10-100 times higher concentrations, also
CC       by cGMP (By similarity). May mediate responses to sour stimuli.
CC   -!- SUBUNIT: The potassium channel is probably composed of a homo- or
CC       heterotetrameric complex of pore-forming subunits. Heteromultimer
CC       with HCN2 (By similarity). Interacts with KCNE2 (By similarity).
CC   -!- SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Integral membrane protein.
CC   -!- TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Highly expressed in cerebral cortex,
CC       cerebellum, throughout the hippocampus, in medial habenula,
CC       anterior dorsal nucleus in the thalamus, tenia tecta, several
CC       nuclei of the general motor system and in optic nerve layer.
CC       Detected in a subset of elongated cells in taste buds.
